Happy New Year!

h1 Saturday, December 31st, 2005

Happy new year, everyone!

And now for the resolutions. This year I really want to start getting back into arts and crafts. My dad mentioned something fun yesterday - learning airbrush. How badass would that be? It’s something we’ve talked about doing before, but we’ve never gone further than that. This time I want to actually try it. Also, I want to get back into lapidary (cutting and polishing stones) and silver if I can manage to find a class up here. I miss it, though it won’t be the same without all those crazy kids I had class with before, hehe. Let’s see, what else… screenprinting. Must take a class in that if I can get into it, as well as life drawing. I’m also toying with the idea of going for an MFA sometime soon. It’s the new bachelors, after all.

So yep, that’s my to do list. I’ll most likely add to this list later, I just listed what popped into my head first.

And now, I make cookies. Anybody want any?

I post!

It never ceases to amaze me how small the world is. My buddy Matt met my cousin the other day. In Washington. Haha, I wonder how many other people I know know random other people I know. What do they say, everybody in the world can be linked to each other by an average of six acquaintances?

In other news, I got a new fishie today. He’s a purdyful crown tail betta. I’ll post pictures when I can find my usb cable, this clutter is driving me craaazy.

Merry Christmas!

Yay, Ana and I both won trips to Vegas! Haha, that was totally random.

Light show

h1 Wednesday, December 14th, 2005

A guy in Mason, Ohio spent $10,000 and two months synching his 16,000 Christmas lights up to a musical score. He had the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “Wizard in Winter” broadcasting on a low-power FM station so that neighbors wouldn’t be bothered by constant noise. He agreed to pull the plug, however, after the light show caused a traffic accident in his neighborhood.

Check out a video of the lights here!

Panexa. Ask your doctor for a reason to take it.

Last night

h1 Sunday, December 11th, 2005

We decided to go to the two Pasadena shows last night and see if we had enough time to head out to one of the other LA shows afterward. Boy, was that a mistake. We ended up standing in line for at least 45 minutes to get in because they were only letting as many people go in as there were coming out, and stupid people were just standing around inside doing nothing, not even looking at art. We finally got in, and discovered the place to be nothing but a store. Sure, one of the artists was there, but he was busy drawing on blank Qee dolls for people willing to spend hundreds of dollars for them. So we didn’t even get to talk to him, and all of the other artists that were there had left by the time we were able to get in. It was disappointing. We did manage to pick up a few more spiffy flyers though. We got out way too late to be able to make it to any of the other shows that were going on, so we just drove down to Sunset and had some pie and ice cream at Mel’s. The pie and the fact that it was such a beautiful night out almost made up for the let down at the Mixi-Bang gallery. Note to self: never go to an art show in Pasadena again.

Who in their right mind blasts music at 8:15 on a Saturday morning in an apartment complex, and after complaints turns it down to where you can hear the bass, but not feel it anymore?

Evil, evil people.

I knew I should have tried getting sleep before 4am, but it’s too late now.

I think I’m turning into my dad.
